South Korean universities and scholarship programs may offer tuition reductions, merit awards, language-based awards, research funding or government scholarships. Eligibility and continuation rules differ; every claim should be checked against an official source.
What to Verify
Confirm the exact amount or percentage, first-semester versus continuing support, minimum GPA or credit requirements, language-test requirements, exclusions, application method and whether assessment is automatic or separate.
Avoid Misleading Claims
A possible scholarship should not be presented as guaranteed unless the university or scholarship body has issued a formal award. Older screenshots, unofficial tables and verbal promises should not replace current written criteria.
Plan for the Full Cost
Build a financial plan that remains workable if a scholarship is smaller than expected or not renewed. Consider tuition, accommodation, meals, insurance, transport, books, visa-related costs and emergency funds.
Verify scholarship claims carefully
Scholarships may be offered by governments, universities, foundations or specific programmes, and conditions can differ substantially. Students should confirm the scholarship name, awarding body, eligibility, coverage, duration, academic conditions, application route and whether the award is automatic or competitive.
A consultant should not present a conditional or competitive scholarship as guaranteed. Where a scholarship is tied to grades, credits, language scores or continued enrolment, those conditions should be clearly communicated.
