How KECAB handles membership, complaint, portal, newsletter and website information.

Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how KECAB may collect, use, store and protect information submitted through kecab.bd, including membership applications, member records, newsletters, complaints, contact communications, portal authentication and document uploads.

Information We May Collect

Depending on the service, KECAB may collect names, organization details, business contact information, office details, membership documents, transaction references, complaint information, uploaded evidence, usage data and authentication records. We seek to collect only information reasonably necessary for the stated institutional purpose.

How Information Is Used

Information may be used to process membership, maintain public verification, communicate updates, manage certificates, review complaints, provide portal access, maintain security, comply with lawful obligations and improve KECAB services. Public member information is limited to records approved for public visibility.

Sensitive Documents and Complaints

Complaint evidence and private membership documents are restricted records. Access should be limited to authorized personnel with a legitimate institutional need. KECAB will not intentionally publish private evidence or confidential documents without a lawful and authorized reason.

Email and OTP

KECAB may use its official Gmail sending account for transactional messages, OTP codes, member updates and newsletters. Users should protect OTP codes and never share them with another person.

Retention and Security

Records may be retained for membership history, governance, dispute handling, audit and lawful institutional obligations. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no online system can promise absolute security.

Privacy Requests

Contact KECAB to ask about personal information, correct inaccurate contact details or raise a privacy concern. Some records may need to be retained for legitimate institutional, legal or historical purposes.

KECAB seeks to collect only information reasonably necessary for membership administration, complaints, subscriptions, member authentication, certificates, payments and institutional communication. Sensitive records should not be published merely because they were submitted to the Association.

Information may be retained where reasonably necessary for institutional records, dispute handling, compliance, accounting or security. Access should be limited according to role and purpose. Users should avoid sending highly sensitive information through ordinary email when a secure upload or formal process is available.

Where applicable, individuals may request correction of inaccurate personal information or ask about information held by KECAB. Certain records may need to be retained for legitimate institutional, legal or audit purposes. Requests should be sent to the official KECAB contact addresses.
